                  Garlic Is Health

Is this a good healthy vegetarian diet plan?

I always find actresses and models an inspiration, although I know those images are unreliable and are retouched, I cannot stop comparing myself to them.

I want to lose weight, and have even tried starving myself because I loathe my body so much at times, it triggers it. I want to be healthy and do it the right way, through healthy eating and I want to see the benefits and have the right amount of self-respect not to torture myself with starvation.

Would this be an appropriate way to go about eating healthily (I am a vego):

                    Breakfast:
1 slice wholegrain bread w/ 1 egg (with both yolk and white)

30 minute walk to grocery store, shopping center etc.

                    Lunch:
                    1 x apple & 1 x 1/2 grapefruit
(any fruit basically depending on availability)

                    Dinner:
1 serving Tofu w/ satay sauce or
steamed vegetables; corn on the cob, carrot, peas, etc. or
lentil dish of chickpeas w/chili sauce, coriander, garlic, onion etc.

                    30 – 60 minutes jogging after dinner.

Does this sound realistic and healthy? Thanks, I appreciate it.

                    Garlic Is Health

How long should vegetables be cooked so that they do not lose their vitamins?

My mother usually cooks them in oil, a few masalas, onion and garlic paste (which by the way makes it very very yummy!). This is how we usually cook vegetables in the sub-continent. We "bhoonafy" i.e. mix it very well with all the masalas and oil until the vegetables get really soft and eat it with rice or roti. It tastes absolutely fabulous! So much so that I forget that I am eating vegetables… :D
